After dealing with slick roads for most of the day today, residents may have difficulty traveling tonight for a different reason.

A dense fog advisory has been issued for Marion County and the surrounding area until midnight. Visibilities will dip to below a quarter of a mile.

As of this afternoon, most State Highways have been cleared of ice, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation. The Marion County Road Department will resume clearing of county roads at 4 a.m. Tuesday, including the use of road graders on gravel.

Area law enforcement reminds all drivers to be extra cautious, especially when roads are less visible due to fog and the lack of daylight.
