Coming off losses to cross-town rival Pella, the Pella Christian girls and boys basketball teams each look to get back on the winning track tonight at home against Norwalk.

When the two schools met nearly three weeks ago, both Eagle squads came away with double digit victories.

Girls Coach Kevin Van Maanen, who’s squad nearly knocked off number one Pella three nights ago, says tonight is a chance to keep playing and keep getting better.

“We don’t want to settle now. We want to keep setting our goals higher and perform better. Defensively, we’re getting much, much better, although I still think we can improve there. I thought we battled on the boards Tuesday night, but we can get better there. We’re just trying to improve as we go.”

The Pella Christian boys have dropped two of their last three overall, and two straight in the LHC to fall from first to third.

Opening tip of the doubleheader is tonight at 6:15 at Pella Christian High School. Trevor Castle and Wynne Veenstra will have the play-by-play on the KRLS 2 stream on our website or mobile app.
