Three vehicles plus a plow truck in the ditch by Swan

Few accidents were reported yesterday in Marion County despite the icy road conditions.

Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada and Sheriff Jason Sandholdt agree that most people stayed off the roads in the morning and prevented potential chaos. They both expressed their thanks to citizens for their good judgement and for making emergency services jobs easier. Several vehicles were observed abandoned in ditches along roadsides and two county snow plows went into ditches onto their sides while they worked to clear roadways at Highway 316 and Coolidge north of Swan and east of Highway 14 on G-28. The truck driver on G-28 sustained minor injuries. The Pella Police Department received reports of three minor accidents during the peak of the storm.
