Both Knoxville and Pella are out of conference play tonight, and the two schools just happen to meet up tonight in Knoxville. The girl’s teams are coming in on far different looks and perspectives on the season. The class 4A top ranked Lady Dutch look to continue to build on their already successful season, while Knoxville is looking to gain more experience for itself. Panthers Coach Jim Uitermarkt tells KNIA/KRLS while winning is always the goal, the more important objective tonight is compete and hopefully be a little better after the game. For the boys game, Knoxville comes in off a loss to Cedar Rapids Xavier over the weekend, a game that Coach Jeff Larson told KNIA/KRLS got away from his team in the second half. For the Little Dutch, they currently sit in second place near the halfway point of the Little Hawkeye Conference schedule, and senior Ryan Van Wyk says that tonight’s trip out of the conference to take on the rival Panthers allows them an opportunity to work on one big area that needs to be improved, defense. You can hear the call on AM 1320 and 95.3 KNIA with Derek Cardwell and John Keitges or on 92.1 KRLS with Trevor Castle, Brian Vande Lune and Mike Buchheit. Both games will be streamed live on kniakrls.com…both pre game shows will hit the air at six.
