The Knoxville Basketball Squads pulled the sweep over Centerville last night, the girls took out the Reddetts 52-24. The Panthers took control in the second quarter as Knoxville outscored Centerville 16-3 to take a 27-12 lead into the break. The Panthers would expand the lead in the second half. Coach Jim Uitermarkt told KNIA/KRLS Sports he hopes this is a start of a positive week. Katie Keitges led all scorers with 17 points. The Panthers improve to 3-5 on the season and 2-3 in the South Central Conference. The boys broke open a close game in the second quarter to go up by 14 and keep Centerville at arm’s length the rest of the game winning 58-44. Chase Larson led a balanced attack with 15 points off the bench and Patrick Crawford had 12 points. Knoxville is now 6-1 on the season and 5-0 the South Central Conference, two full games in the lead. The Panthers are at home Friday against Albia.
