A manhunt in Jasper County was resolved Tuesday night and involved a man accused of frequently fleeing police.

Katelund Jeffrey, 20, and Anthony Dommer, age 26, were arrested on warrants after multiple police agencies searched for the two for nearly four hours.

At approximately 8:45 p.m. the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a vehicle stopped in the middle of the roadway in the 5600 block of Hwy F-62 W in rural Reasnor. It was determined that this was possibly the vehicle that Dommer and Jeffrey were using, and at approximately 10:00 p.m. the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office received notification regarding two individuals in a garage approximately 1.5 miles from the scene of the vehicle stopped in the roadway.

Deputies and found Jeffrey on the property, and she was taken into custody. A search of multiple buildings took place, revealing no other persons. A short time later, deputies searched a field, finding Anthony Dommer hiding in the brush. Dommer was taken into custody without incident and transported to Skiff Medical Center for cold exposure symptoms, and later transported to the Polk County Jail.

Dommer had eluding charges from an October 2015 chase as part of a plea agreement, and pled guilty to a reduced eluding charge for a chase involving Monroe Police and multiple Marion County agencies in February of the same year. He was out on work release after pleading guilty to 2nd degree theft in Marion County and receiving prison time for an incident in 2015 as well. The warrant was in place after he escaped the work release facility.

Monroe Police, Prairie City Police, the Iowa State Patrol, and Newton Fire/EMS all assisted.
