The Marion County Board of Supervisors approved resurfacing Old Highway 163 this week.

According to Marion County Engineer Tyler Christian, the asphalt overlay will be completed in conjunction with the City of Pella between Eagle Lane and Old Highway 102. He says the project will be shared because stretch of road is split by the Pella Corporate Limits. Christian tells KNIA/KRLS the final construction cost will be split in half, and the Marion County Road Department will supervise the project.

The Pella City Council will consider a resolution to pay for their half of the Old Highway 163 overlay project at their next meeting January 17th.
