The Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad was held to its lowest point total of the season by Newton, and the Cardinals were able to defeat the Panthers 50-33 Saturday. Poor Shooting and a stingy Newton defense never allowed Knoxville to get comfortable the entire game. Trent Davis scored 14 points to lead the Panthers who fall to 7-2 on the season. A three point fourth quarter was the Knoxville Girls Basketball Squad’s undoing Saturday as the Panthers fell to Newton 42-29. Knoxville trailed the whole game but kept it close only down four at the half and was within seven after three quarters. Coach Jim Uitermarkt tells KNIA/KRLS how important it is to get off to good starts with this team. Katie Keitges scored 11 to lead the Panthers who drop to 4-6 on the season. The girls will travel to Creston on Tuesday while the boys are off until Friday when they travel to Clarke.
