In a break from Little Hawkeye Conference action, the No. 1 ranked Pella Christian boys basketball team took care of business on the road to State Center last night.

The Eagles defeated West Marshall 65-39 in a game heard live on KNIAKRLS.com.

Pella Christian overcame 20 turnovers while attempting to keep the tempo higher than usual throughout. The Eagles outscored West Marshall 24-11 in the 3rd quarter to extend the gap and get substitutes in for the remainder of the contest.

Point Guard Levi Jungling scored 18 points and snagged six rebounds, and tells KNIA/KRLS Sports it was important to get a lopsided win while away from the conference to receive a much-needed break as a tough five-day stretch looms.

“That was nice to just physically heal up and rest up a little bit,” he says. “We’ve got a big test Friday against Osky and Knoxville Saturday will be a tough game as well, so it was nice to get a little bit of rest in for sure.”

Jackson Flagel had 14 points and eight boards, and Scott Haveman tacked on 10 of his own.

Pella Christian is 11-1 and returns to conference action Friday against the only team to defeat them this year when they travel to Oskaloosa.
