The most prolific receiver in state football history will continue his career at the college of choice for many Pella Christian students.

Levi Jungling will join Dordt College Defenders football this fall.

Jungling tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he chose to head to Sioux Center due in large because of the academic program and the opportunity to have a little extra time to focus on school. And while he’s an all-state player in both sports, Jungling says he picked football over basketball because of his passion to play on the gridiron.

“It’s the sport I love the most, it’s the sport I’ve loved since I was a little kid,” Jungling says. “I think I feel truly alive when I’m out on the football field, so. yeah I don’t think I can live without it.”

“After the football season was over, it hard for me thinking that I might not ever play another down of football.”

Levi isn’t the only Eagle heading northeast, as Kenden Veenstra signed to join the Dordt basketball team next winter.

Both Jungling and Veenstra are relieved to have made their college choice, and say they will turn their full attention to finishing their high school studies and the basketball season strong.
