While Coaches vs. Cancer was another incredible success on Saturday, the basketball games for the Knoxville Panthers were not what they had hoped. The girls, playing without Shaye Nichols due to an ankle injury suffered on Friday was shorthanded and fell to Pella Christian 56-25. The Eagles, behind the 14 points from Kaley Wilson, took control early on and never looked back. Katie Keitges scored seven points for the Panthers. Knoxville is now 6-10 on the season while Pella Christian is 11-4. In the boys game, Pella Christian used a 9-0 burst in the third quarter led by Levi Jungling to take control and defeat Knoxville 58-48. Panthers Coach Jeff Larson told KNIA/KRLS Sports they have to figure out how to get four good quarters together to beat teams like Pella Christian. Jungling ended up with 22 points on the night with 10 rebounds while Cade McNeill scored 15 for the Panthers. Knoxville falls to 9-5 on the year while Pella Christian is 12-2.
