The Marion County Law Enforcement Center will be the construction site for a 350 to 400 foot Department of Public Safety Communications tower.

Marion County Sheriff Jason Sandholdt tells KNIA/KRLS News in exchange for letting the state build the tower, all Marion County emergency services will have the option to use it. He says the tower’s central location and height make it an improvement over the current system, which is a tower north of the Red Rock Dam. Sandholdt says if the county had undertaken the project, it may have cost as much as $500,000. Despite its height, the tower’s base will only take a 100×100 foot area.
