Lawmakers aim to tackle a $118 million budget shortfall when they reconvene this week.

State Representative Guy Vander Linden says each chamber of the Iowa Statehouse and the governor’s office have all mostly laid out their plans for cuts, and beyond a few line items, there is a lot of agreement of where the spending should be reduced this fiscal year. He says work for upcoming session will begin this week as well after many legislators were out over the first two weeks.
