Today is the day that area bowling teams will try to qualify for the state tournament.

In bowling, there are 3 classes. The largest 28 schools are in 3-A, the next 28 are in 2-A, and the smallest 44 are in 1-A.

Pella competes in class 2-A, and will bowl in district 6 today. That meet is at Champion Bowl in Ottumwa at 10:00 this morning. The Little Dutch are joined by the host Bulldogs, Norwalk and Newton.

Knoxville and Pella Christian are both in class 1-A, and will participate in the district 3 meet that starts at 1:00 at Great Escape in Pleasant Hill. It’s the Panthers, Eagles, Bondurant-Farrar, Creston, Lamoni, Mount Ayr and Nodaway Valley.
