Central’s basketball teams went to Nebraska for the first time ever for Iowa Conference action, but came back empty handed as the Prairie Wolves swept the doubleheader.

The Dutch women held a 27-24 halftime lead, but faltered down the stretch in a 67-58 loss.

Junior guard Emily Dine, already the school’s all-time three-point leader, broke the single season record as well with her second long ball of last night’s game. She now has 67 on the season.

Dine and Kendall Brown each scored 12 points to lead the Dutch.

The men’s game was tied at 39 at halftime and still tied at 59 with just over 12 minutes left. Nebraska Wesleyan closed with a 42-21 run to win comfortably, 101-80.

Pete Walker led Central with 15 points, Nick Drucker added 12 off the bench, and Kyle Smith scored 11. Colby Taylor was limited to just six points.

Central’s women drop to 9-11 overall and 2-9 in the Iowa Conference. The men are now 11-9 and 5-6.

Both squads host Wartburg on Saturday.
