The decision as to whether or not there will be criminal charges filed in the crash that killed three people and injured two at the Pella Walmart on December 1, 2016 may be made public by March 1.

Marion County Attorney Ed Bull tells KNIA/KRLS News that he has received final reports from both the DCI and the Iowa State Patrol concluding their investigations into the incident. Bull says both reports exceed 150 pages in length and he plans to take an appropriate amount of time to fully review them. He also plans to meet with the families involved before he announces a decision. Carrie Zugg, 31, of Leighton, Lindsey Rietveld, 29, of Bussey, and Ruth Jean DeJong, 76, of Pella, were killed when a Ford truck driven by Dennis Mockenhaupt, 66, of Pershing slammed through the front door of the Walmart store in Pella.
