For the second straight night, the Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad had to make a furious comeback to beat a South Central Conference team, but the Panthers did it and completed the 12-0 conference slate with a 65-64 win over Eddyville-Blakesburg. The Rockets got out to an early lead and held it until the fourth quarter when Knoxville took the lead 50-49. The lead traded back and forth with the game finally tied at 64 with ten seconds left. Eddyville had two point blank chances that did not go in and on the rebound…Knoxville’s Cade McNeill was fouled with less than a second left and drained one-of-two free throws to get the win. Coach Jeff Larson told KNIA/KRLS Sports his guys reached down in a game they were very lucky to win. Blake McClung, who nailed a 40 foot shot at the end of the third quarter, led the Panthers with 14 points, McNeill had 11 and Chase Larson scored ten points. Knoxville is now 13-5 and will travel to P-C-M on Monday.
