Last week, Knoxville Wrestler Matthew Landsperger finished fourth at 195 pounds in the class 2A State Wrestling Meet. It is quite a story knowing how much Landsperger struggled with his health and a rash of injuries in his career. Coach Doug Hatch tells KNIA/KRLS Sports Landsperger’s first loss at state was to the eventual state champion Bryce Esmoli of West Liberty 13-to-nothing. While that was a major decision, Landsperger was the only opponent to take Esmoli to the full six minutes. Landsperger will come back along with several other wrestlers for the Panthers to try to get to the state meet next season.
