While a true “first option” may not be available on the PCM Girls Basketball team, it is their wealth of options on the offensive end that leads to much of their success.

Freshman guard Regan Freland has steadily improved her scoring over the course of the season to the tune of 13.7 per game dropped 15 on Saturday against West Marshall in the regional qualifier, third leading scorer Katie Vande Wall matched the freshman’s output with another 15, and second leading scorer Kayle Jennings only scored 11 but hit a clutch shot late to seal the win. Those three reliable scoring options, plus senior guard Lexi Timmins ability to score as well as she scored 17 against the Rockets in the regional semifinals, give the Mustangs plenty of weapons to use in the state tournament. PCM will take on Sioux Center next Tuesday at Wells Fargo Arena in the quarterfinals of the state tournament.
