A Pella Christian High School graduate has been appointed to serve as the associate attorney general by the Trump Administration.

Rachel Brand, who graduated in 1991 from Pella Christian and studied law at Harvard, previously served in the Justice Department before under President George W. Bush from 2003-2007. She was the Assistant Attorney General for Legal Policy at the U.S. Department of Justice, served as chief policy adviser to the Attorney General, including the areas of national security, law enforcement, and civil justice.

Brand has most recently served as a Member of the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board since 2012.
