Typically, the Pella Christian boys basketball team would already be preparing for a specific opponent at next week’s state tournament. A change in the selection process means the Eagles, and all other qualifiers, must wait until tomorrow afternoon to see the bracket.

The other seven qualifiers in class 2-A are Camanche, Cascade, Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, Carroll Kuemper, South Hamilton, Van Meter and Western Christian.

While they are not the official rankings used to seed the teams, BC Moore’s computer rankings were a good guide to the district seeds that came out of the first year of this new system.

Pella Christian is ranked third by BC Moore, behind Western Christian and Carroll Kuemper. Cascade is the sixth highest ranked team left in the field, and would be the Eagles’ opponent under those rankings.

The brackets will be announced tomorrow afternoon, with class 2-A first round games scheduled for next Monday and Tuesday.
