A career milestone was toppled by one of the best dual-sport athletes in Iowa High School sports history.

Pella Christian’s Levi Jungling knocked down a second-quarter three vs. Newton to eclipse 1500 points for his career in the team’s 68-62 comeback victory for the regular season finale. Pella Christian’s boys finish at 17-4 and the 2nd place team in the Little Hawkeye Conference behind crosstown rival Pella.

Jungling’s 1513 career points are second in Eagles’ program history, behind Eric Pothoven’s 1675. The point guard would need 27 points per game if PC would play all the way until either the state finals or 3rd place game to tie or break the record.

Jungling is no stranger to breaking career milestones, as the senior headed for Dordt College to play football finished his gridiron career as the state of Iowa’s all-time leading wide receiver with 3,818 career yards, including a state-record in a single season of 1602 yards in 2015. His 46 receiving touchdowns are second all-time in state history as well.

Pella Christian’s boys begin their playoff journey at home next Thursday, against either Albia or Van Buren.
