Pella’s girls lead wire-to-wire in a 65-42 victory over Newton, while the Cardinal boys flipped the script with a start-to-finish 68-45 drubbing of the Little Dutch in a doubleheader heard live on KRLS 2.

The Lady Dutch jumped out to an 8-0 lead, built a 29-20 lead by halftime, and pulled away in the final 16 minutes.

Kiara Bradley scored 22 points and grabbed 12 boards as class 4A #4 Pella improves to 15-4 overall and 9-3 in the LHC.

Newton’s boys started with a 14-1 flurry, but saw their lead trimmed to just 25-21 at intermission. The Cardinals then hit seven three pointers en route to a 28-9 third quarter advantage to put the game away.

Ryan Van Wyk scored 12 and Nick Finney added 11 for the Little Dutch, who drop to 16-2 on the season and 10-2 in the Little Hawkeye Conference.

Pella’s boys play Centerville at 2:30 this afternoon in a home contest, then both squads host Oskaloosa Tuesday night for Senior Night.
