Pella’s wrestlers head to the class 3-A district in Mount Pleasant on Saturday with hopes of sending multiple individuals to the state tournament next week.

Little Dutch Coach Joe Burch tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that Keegan Poole and Ashton Messer represent the best chance of making it to state, but a total of seven seniors are all positioned to advance if they wrestle well Saturday.

Poole, who placed sixth at state as a junior, is 37-3 and will be the number one seed in the district at 285 pounds. Messer is 32-8 and will likely be seeded second at 170 pounds.
