Pella is sending one wrestler to next week’s state tournament – heavyweight Keegan Poole.

Competing at the class 3-A district 5 meet in Mount Pleasant, Poole won his bracket by beating Callan Tomlin of Oskaloosa 3-1 in the finals. He’s now 39-3 on the season, and will try to improve upon last year’s sixth place finish at state.

Little Dutch 170 pound senior Ashton Messer, who was a contender to qualify for state, missed Saturday’s tournament due to illness.
