A slow start on offense, scoring just 5 points in the first quarter, doomed the Trojans in their first round district game at home against West Marshall last night in a 59-49 defeat.

The Trojan defense lived up to their end of the bargain, allowing only 24 first half points, but a 2-1-2 zone put on by the visiting Trojans put too much pressure on the cold shooters of Pleasantville. A strong push in the third and fourth quarters saw Pleasantville get within three points multiple times, but every run was answered by a disciplined West Marshall squad. The Trojans season ends with a 13-8 record and says goodbye to three seniors. The Trojan girls team will play tonight in second round regional play against Central Decatur, and you can hear that game live on AM 1320 and FM 95.3 KNIA starting at 6:45.
