It was a clean sweep by the Twin Cedars Basketball Squads last night over Melcher-Dallas. The Saber girls beat Melcher-Dallas 40-26 with Shelby DenBurger grabbing a record tying 23 rebounds and scoring seven points. DenBurger tied former Twin Cedars all-state athlete Lindsey Hoehns-Crozier for that record. Coach Mark Bacus told KNIA/KRLS he was happy to get the win and to see a record set. Jenson Hastings led the Sabers with 13 points. For Melcher-Dallas it was just not making enough shots as the Saints went 13/60 form the field and were outrebounded 46-27. McKenna Schrader and Gracie Mann led the Saints with eight points. Both Twin Cedars and Melcher-Dallas will embark on their first round regional games tomorrow. The Saints will host Mormon Trail while Twin Cedars will travel to Wayne. On the boys side, it was all Twin Cedars, and Jake Crozier owned the night in an 81-57 win. Crozier poured in career high 35 points and grabbed 17 rebounds putting him just five shy of breaking a 40 year old single season rebounding record. Coach Alan Stewart told KNIA/KRLS while Crozier got the points, he credited his entire team for playing well. Cam Arkema added 15 points while Jake Knox put in 13 points for Twin Cedars. Blaise Cooper played one of his better games of the season with a 25 point performance.
