For the second year in a row at the NCAA Division III indoor track and field championships, Central College men’s track and field high jumper Logan Mulford snagged a runner-up finish.

Including Mulford, four competitors in Saturday’s 17-man field cleared 6 feet, 9 inches. None of the four were able to complete a leap at 6-10.75, reverting the place-order finish to number of misses in previous jumps.

Jacob Eason of Rhodes College had cleared 6-9 on his second attempt while Mulford did not make it until his third try, giving Eason the national title.

Mulford has now placed in the top-two at the last three national meets in the high jump as he also was the runner-up at last year’s outdoor championships.
