Central’s baseball team dropped the front end of a doubleheader with Cornell in Florida yesterday, 6-1, then snapped their six-game losing streak by winning the nightcap 4-2.

In the victory, Central got a game-tying two-run homer from Garrett Saunders, a go-ahead RBI double from Noah Stochl (stow-kull) and insurance in the form of a Stochl sac fly.

Zach Edwards earned the win with six-and-two-thirds innings of work, striking out five against no walks, and Pella’s Tanner Wood go the final out for the save.

Central is 2-6 and returns to action Thursday.
