Twenty-fourth ranked Central College dropped a 3-2 decision to Suffolk of Massachusetts Saturday morning in Arizona to start it season, then rebounded with a 12-3 drubbin of Wisconsin-Platteville in five innings.

Dutch hurler Karly Olson was perfect for the first, second, third, fifth, sixth and seventh innings, but the Rams struck for three runs on three hits in the decisive fourth inning. Central outhit Suffolk 9-4, but left eight runners on base and had the tying run thrown out at home in the seventh.

In the rout of Platteville, Tab Taylor, Paige Dickel and freshman Amanda Sigulas all went 3-for-3 at the plate as the Dutch struck for nine runs in the first two innings and cruised to victory.

They’re back in action Sunday against Stevens Institute of Technology and Minnesota-Crookston.
