Coming out of winter hibernation, the Central College women’s tennis team nearly pulled off a win to start its spring season before falling 5-4 Saturday morning against Purdue University-Northwestern of Indiana.

Meanwhile, the Pride men beat the Dutch 6-3, as Central falls to 3-9 overall.

Both squads are headed south for spring break March 11th-18th. They’ll practice all week at Baylor University’s Hurd Tennis Center, which has been cited as the nation’s top college venue, and they’ll play matches against Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton Concordia University in Austin.
