The Iowa Conference handed out its postseason awards yesterday. Three Central College men and two Dutch women were named to the all-Iowa Conference teams.

For the women, Claire Marburger received first-team honors and teammate Emily Dine received honorable mention.

During league play, Marburger averaged 18.3 points per game, the best in the conference. She finished fourth in the conference in rebounding, corralling 7.7 boards per game.

Dine tallied 12.6 points per game during league play and averaged three 3-point makes per game. The junior broke Central’s career 3-pointers made record with 143 trifectas.

On the men’s side, Colby Taylor received first-team honors, teammate Kyle Smith was named second-team and Pete Walker received honorable mention notice.

Taylor garnered first-team honors after averaging 19.1 points per game during league play, the second most of any player. His 7.5 rebounds per game were good for fifth in the league.

Smith contributed 15.5 points during the conference schedule, and he was fourth in the league shooting 40.8 percent from beyond the arc.  Walker averaged 13.0 points per game in the 11 league games that he played during an injury plagued season.
