Wartburg’s baseball team and Luther’s softball teams are the preseason favorites to win the 2017 Iowa Conference titles, according to the league’s coaches.

Wartburg received 59 points in the baseball poll, one ahead of Luther. Central was picked seventh and Simpson was picked last in the nine-team league.

On the softball side, Luther received 64 points, with Central in second place at 56. Simpson was tabbed for the middle of the pack, at fifth.
