The Iowa Board of Educational Examiners has ordered Knoxville Superintendent Cassi Pearson to undergo 15 hours of ethics training within the next year.

On March 8th, a settlement was approved by the Board of Educational Examiners. The settlement stems from an incident in which the board received a complaint in August alleging Pearson posted confidential information about a student on the school’s website. The examiners found probable cause and scheduled a March 16th hearing that was ultimately not needed due to the settlement. Knoxville School Board President Andrew Schmidt told KNIA/KRLS News: “Throughout this process the Knoxville School Board’s priority, as well as the priority of Superintendent Pearson, has been to do what is in the best interest of the student. We are thankful that this matter is now resolved.”
