Knoxville High School is using their Career Exploration and Work Experience programs at the high school to help students learn real life skills while also earning credits towards graduation.

The Career Exploration program allows students to receive work instruction on-site, from current, actual employees in many different aspects of each business. Mr. C’s Steak House Cobblestone Hotel and Suites, Manny’s Diner, Knoxville Middle School, Raceway Tire & Exhaust, Hy-Vee, and Knoxville Farm & Home all participate in the Career Exploration program. Coffee Connection, Knoxville Farm and Home, and Wal-Mart all work with Knoxville High School to allow students to participate in the Work Experience Program . The Work Experience Program is a program in which students are actually hired by the businesses and work during the school day around their academic schedules. The program gives students the opportunity to earn both credit toward graduation and personal income.
