Earlier this past week, Melcher-Dallas Girls Basketball Coach John Suntken took his girls to the state tournament. The trip was two-fold. First he wanted to watch the team his brother helps coach, which is Pocahontas Area. Another is to show his team what it takes to be a great player. Suntken told a story his brother related to him during Melcher-Dallas’s awards banquet recently about Pocahontas Area’s star player Elle Ruffridge. Suntken hopes the girls realize they need to do work in the offseason while playing their other sports.
