Music Students Excel in State Solo and Ensemble Contests

Music students will continue participating in the Iowa High School Music Association’s State Solo and Ensemble Contest.

Pella Christian will be a host and have a wide range of performers participating this Saturday on Eagle Lane.

Pella Orchestra students who participated in the 3A competition last weekend in Grinnell had six students earn Division I “Superior Ratings.” Knoxville had a wide range of musicians, including vocalists and band students, participate in the contest as well. The following students at Pella received a I rating: Maddie Johnson, Liz Pettit, John Carlo, Bethany VanDusseldorp, and Bryana Dawson. The following students received a II rating: Mark Sutija, Liz Pettit, Kathleen Parrish, Kaleena VanHaaften, Lin Nikkel, and Hannah Galloway.

Vocalists from Knoxville included: Shannon Yocum, Taryn Johnson, Xavier Wilkening, Trevor Poundstone, Neil Ramirez, Juanita Bennett, Isaiah Finan, Ethan Rowland, Jinni Dingel, Hanah Hefner, Kaley Iddings, Jade Dilliner, Cidney DeWitt, Brooke Willardson, Eliza Eckert, Emma White, Sam Wadle, Spencer Marsh, Ashley Cumpton, Jason Lee Grantz, Kayla Hembrook, Taylor Wyss.
