The Pella School Board held a public hearing for the fiscal year 2018 budget at their meeting Monday.

The board reviewed the certified budget presentation and property tax rates, which will stay the same as the previous taxable year at $15.19 per $1000 of valuation. The board also received construction updates for Pella High School, including the newly opened areas near the east wing and a shift to work beginning in the choir area and the old cafeteria.

They approved resolutions including kits for middle school science students, a natural gas sales agreement with Alliant Energy, and a maintenance sharing agreement with Lynnville-Sully Schools.
