After a blowout loss to Pella Christian ended their 2015-16 season in Head Coach Joel Allman’s first season as Pleasantville Boys Basketball coach, a decision was made that the Trojans needed to improve their three point shot if they wanted to take the next step as a team. During the 2016-17 season, a lot of improvement was seen on the court, as junior guards Gauge Van Haalen and Owen Worthington each shot over 34% from long range after not being much of a threat in their sophomore seasons. The plan for this offseason? Much of the same coach Allman told KNIA/KRLS Sports.

Coach Allman
“We have to raise our shooting percentages. I look at the teams in the state tournament, and they shoot a high percentage and don’t turn the ball over. So that will be our main focus this summer”

Pleasantville ended their season with a 13-8 record.
