The S curve on Highway G40 east of Pleasantville will be under construction in the next few weeks.

Marion County Engineer Tyler Christian tells KNIA/KRLS News the reason for the construction is for pavement rehabilitation and lane widening as well as partial straightening of the curve between 82nd Avenue and 100th Avenue. The expected road improvements will begin on April 3rd and will last for approximately two months. During much of the time of construction Highway G40 will be down to one lane, but a full closure will occur sometime during the first month of improvements. When the full closure occurs there will be a marked gravel road detour in place.
