Sophomore Hunter Tyree was the one athlete qualified for the state meet from the Pleasantville Trojan boys track and field team last season, and now in his junior season the goal is to get back and bring some others.

Tyree qualified in the long jump with a jump of 20 feet 9 inches, but several others were within striking distance of making the final meet. Junior Chaz Clark threw 46 feet 11.5 inches in the shot put, and 131.5 feet in the discus making him the top returner, and a breakthrough performance in the fall cross country season sets up Josh Pulse to score some points for the Trojans in the long distance runs.

A full season preview of Pleasantville Track and Field can be heard on the Knoxville Hyvee Radio Coaches Corner this Saturday on KNIA/KRLS. The Trojans get their season started next Tuesday in a meet at Pella Christian.
