Notice of store closure posted at Casey’s on Main and Washington

Notices have been posted at three Casey’s General Store locations in Pella slated to close as a new store nears completion on Main Street.

The location at the corner of Washington and Broadway will shut its doors on Sunday, April 9th. This property will be donated to Pella Historical Society upon removal of the building and pumps.

The Main and Washington Street location will be closed on Sunday, April 16th, and the store on Oskaloosa Street will shut its doors on Sunday, April 23rd.

According to the notices posted at all three locations, the new building under construction at the corner of Main and Union Streets will be open for business in May, with no official opening date set.

Construction at the new site began following months of city council and board meetings, in which the Pella City Council ultimately approved a Planned Unit Development, which included requirements for additional landscaping on the property, limited business hours, and for Casey’s to fully rehabilitate the three locations closing in April, among other provisions.

The two locations on Clark Street and Washington Street near Highway 163 will remain open for regular hours.

Main Street in Pella from Independence to Union will be closed while repairs are being completed at the Casey’s General Store construction site. The closure begins Monday, March 27th at 7 a.m., with plans to reopen the following Friday afternoon. Detour signs will be posted.
