The Central College softball team is up to five wins in a row after trouncing Dickinson of Pennsylvania 15-0 in five innings yesterday and pulling away from Eastern Connecticut State 7-2.

The Dutch scored six in the first and nine in the third against the Red Devils. Paige Dickel was three-for-three with a double, a homer and five RBI. Abbie Voas was also three-for-three, and Mariah Fritz threw the complete game shutout.

Against Eastern, Karly Olson surrendered two runs in the bottom of the first inning as Central fell behind, but she allowed just two hits and no runs over the final six innings. Amanda Sigulas and Emily Wilson were two of five Dutch players to collect two hits, with Sigulas belting a pair of doubles and Wilson adding an inside-the-park homerun.

Central is 5-1 on the season and has yet another doubleheader today. They’ll play Macmurray and Greenville, both of Illinois.
