This week is Iowa Severe Weather Awareness Week, which is devoted to informing the public about different ways to be prepared for severe weather threats.

The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team works in conjunction with WeatherEye to inform Marion County residents when, where and how they might be at risk for potential hazardous weather conditions. Weathereye Meteorologist Paul Trambley tells KNIA/KRLS News that it’s a team effort when severe weather strikes with WeatherEye giving the warning’s general location and KNIA/KRLS being able to add specific town information to better inform the public about the hazards. KNIA/KRLS is in constant contact with WeatherEye Meteorologists during any severe weather watch or warning to help keep listeners updated about the situation as it changes.
