Three local high school students have been recognized as some of the best in the state.

214 nominees were recently announced for Academic All-State with three students representing Marion County. Scott Molloy from Knoxville High School, Kyung (Jason) Seo from Pella High School and Colton Spaur from Twin Cedars High School were all recognized as top in their class and nominees for Academic All-State for 2017. Scott Molloy was recognized as one of the top ten students in the state with plans to attend Drake University to major in biology following graduation from Knoxville High School. Kyung Seo was recognized as a Central Region Standout and plans to attend Iowa State University and major in computer science following graduation from Pella High School. And Colton Spaur plans on attending the University of Iowa and majoring in journalism and mass communication following his graduation from Twin Cedars High School.
