Central College’s baseball team hopes to continue it’s red-hot stretch late in the season.

Nebraska-Wesleyan will travel to Pella for the first time as a member of the Iowa Conference when the 17-15 Dutch host a doubleheader today. Central has won 12 of its last 16 games, and already defeated the Prairie Wolves on their home field 7-6 on April 18th. Head Coach Matt Schirm tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he’s hopeful the team can continue improvement across the board with the postseason looming.

Central aims to keep the bats alive after racking up 20 runs in the three-game series with Loras over the weekend, led by Iowa Conference Male Athlete of the Week Zach Brown, who is riding a nine-game hitting streak and has six extra-base hits and two home runs over the past seven days.

Andrew Schneider will broadcast game two of the doubleheader from Pella beginning at 1 p.m. on KNIAKRLS.com via the KNIA3 stream. Pregame coverage online begins at approximately 3:45 p.m.
