Freshman Amanda Sigulas delivered the second walk-off hit of her young career, capping a doubleheader sweep of Nebraska Wesleyan for the 14th-ranked Central College softball team. The Dutch won the opener 6-2, then took the nightcap 2-1 in nine innings.

Central trailed 2-1 in game one before a four run fifth inning broke it open. In game two, the Dutch clung to a 1-0 lead when the Prairie Wolves struck for back-to-back hits to tie the game with two outs in the seventh. Central then loaded the bases in the ninth before Sigulas’ hit won it.

The Dutch are now 29-7 overall and 11-3 in IIAC play, and have clinched at least a tie for second place. Central wraps up the regular season tomorrow afternoon at home against Dubuque, and with at least one win in the doubleheader, they’ll lock up solo second place behind champion Luther.
