Central hosts Luther this afternoon at the Kuyper Athletic Complex softball field, and first place in the Iowa Conference is on the online.

The 12th-ranked Dutch are 7-1 in the IIAC, while fourth-ranked Luther comes in at 5-1. Each team’s only league loss is to Coe, who sits alone in third place.

Central head Coach George Wares expects a battle this afternoon.

“I think it’s just who’s going to do what they have to do when they have to do it. I know you want to hear that ‘wow, we’re playing really well, we’re going to win two’. I said the same thing going into Coe – I think we’ll play well. I think our players are very confident and they should be. But we’re playing a very good team and it could go either way.”
