KNIA/KRLS has once again been recognized as one of the best radio stations in the state.

The Iowa Broadcast News Association held the organization’s annual news contest Saturday. KNIA/KRLS earned first place honors for breaking news coverage, the live Election 2016 show, public affairs coverage, and the now four-time-in-a-row award winning Football Friday Night Radio Preview Show.

KNIA/KRLS was also recognized for our daily sportscast, interviews, play-by-play of local sports, and overall station excellence. Station Manager Jim Butler says the recognition is a positive reflection on the station’s mission to be the one to count on for today’s news and information in Marion County.

“We are honored to provide quality, award-winning local news, sports, weather, and information each year,” Butler says. “These awards continue to show our commitment to providing the best coverage daily to our listeners.”
