Two area girls track and field teams were at Norwalk last night and both had varying degrees of success. Knoxville finished seventh with 51 total points, but got another record setting effort from freshman Katie Keitges, this time in the 800 as she won and set a new school record with a time of 2:23.38. Coach Brad McWilliams tells KNIA/KRLS Sports Keitges seeing herself do well this early will give her a boost in future meets. The Panthers other first place came from Cassidy Pearson in the discus as she threw 101 feet eight inches to win that event. PCM was also in the girls race as the Mustangs finished fourth with 100 total points. Jayci Vos was a winner in the 400 hurdles…the Mustangs took second in the 4×800, also second in the shuttle hurdle relay, Maddie Samson was runner-up in the shot put, and Rachel Stafford was second in the 800. The Knoxville Boys Track and Field Squad finished up sixth at the Norwalk Relays last night. Trent Davis was the Panthers best finish with a second place.
